Join RAFI’s staff for a visit to Butch Byrum’s family farm on November 23rd from 12 noon to 1 pm. You’ll have the opportunity to see the family’s historic grist mill in operation and be able to purchase freshly ground cornmeal just in time for Thanksgiving. Butch Byrum Edenton, NC Butch Byrum is renovating and re-opening an historic grist mill in Chowan County. He is transitioning to growing organic corn and will use the mill to produce an organic cornmeal. His grandfather and a close friend in the community originally operated the mill. As a fifth generation cotton farmer, Butch hopes to cultivate and process organic corn and cotton on his multi-generational family farm and looks forward to getting the mill running again at full capacity.
