We’re looking forward to attending a farm tour on October 18th at Waterdog Farms in Hurdle Mills, NC (from 1-3 pm). The farm received a grant from our Agricultural Reinvestment Fund this year to scale up production of their herbs and tea plants. Check out this growing farm-to-cup business and enjoy free samples of their tasty herbal teas. You must RSVP if you plan to attend by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
Information from the farm’s event flyer:
You are invited to our farm in Hurdle Mills, NC on Sunday, October 18th from 1pm to 3pm for a short tour and Q/A session regarding our recently completed project, Scaling Up On-Farm Production of Local Teas to Increase Crop Value and Farm Profits.
With the generous support of the Rural Advancement Foundation International (RAFI)’s Agricultural Reinvestment Fund, we have made great improvements to our on-farm processing processes and facility.
These changes have led to an increase in productivity, efficiency, and sales of our teas. Arrive at 1:00 pm and we’ll take a quick tour of the farm and our remodeled processing area (formerly the garage apartment!). We’ll then sample some of our teas and answer any questions folks might have.
We encourage participants to wear shoes appropriate for walking around a potentially muddy farm; however, we will ask everyone to take their shoes off if they wish to see the processing facility.
The farm is located at 904 Terry Road, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541. For GPS users, please ensure that you are navigating to Terry Road in Hurdle Mills, NOT Terry Road in Hillsborough.
